What type of sealant for roof ?

Just looking for some tribal knowledge.
I was up on roof and noticed some of the caulking around fan and skylight are starting to have cracks. What is everyone using to reseal and what is the best way to prep before resealing? Trying to stay proactive.

    Thanks in advance

Here is one of the links to forum post. There are many. Search "roof sealant" or similar in the top right of page. There are many posts, but basically people say they are using either Dicor or Alpha Systems with good results. I believe Alpha is what factory uses. Also Super Flex I think??? (forums members??). Go heavy on the flat sections like roof where it will spread. Ugly and large is good.....not so much on vertical surfaces!! There is a horizontal surface type and a vertical no sag type. The last time I did maintenance on mine, it was minimal and I just put new material over old.

I believe what you use totally depends on the type of roof you have. First figure that out then find out what's recommended for that type of roof.

Dicor or Sikaflex and best to use self leveling.

BTW - it's been back and forth as to whether you can use Dicor on an Alpha roof. I haven't seen a definitive word on that. My dealer had no knowledge, and just uses Dicor. I've seen posts reproducing responses from Alpha that Dicor should never be used. But can't vouch for authenticity. Alpha has noted that the Alpha stuff sold on Amazon is NOT authorized, and should never be used. Counterfeit labels on it, at least. Perhaps counterfeit product, also. They only retailed theirs through Camping World. Note that the Alpha does expire! So check the date if you get theirs.

The other question is your roof/RV still under warranty? If so using the wrong product could void the warranty.
