    Closed Campgrounds - National Info

    Hi -
I think it would be helpful to have a listing of US/Canada campgrounds that are closed/closing.

Escapees sent an email with a link to Campendium's list of CLOSED CAMPGROUNDS - LINK HERE

If you know of other closings that Campendium didn't list they have a link for you to submit it.

FLORIDA state parks closed until May 15. Day use is allowed.

PA state park campgrounds closed from Mar 17 - Mar 31. Day use is allowed
Pennsylvania State Parks Facilities will be closed for 14 days effective Tuesday, March 17 to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. As part of Pennsylvania's COVID-19 mitigation efforts, all buildings at the parks, including park offices and restrooms, will be closed, and all events and public educational programs will be canceled. The public will still be able to access trails, lakes, rivers, forests, roads, and parking areas for passive and dispersed recreation, such as hiking. All overnight and day use rental facilities will be closed. While these park facilities are closed, state park rangers and park managers will continue to work to ensure security and that public safety is protected.
New Mexico state park campgrounds closed until April 9th

Great thread I have a link someone sent me, the list here is limited but has some good info. Hard to stay totally updated as things keep changing by the second. If anyone has additional info on closed or closing campgrounds please post it here
I made this a sticky, so many are out there right now and the number of RVers wandering lost as campgrounds close will increase.

I really don't understand the closing of the campgrounds. I would think that could be about as safe as you can get. You can maintain the social distancing and still converse quite easily. And - your outdoors!!!

Likely due to either reallocation of personnel, or in anticipation of having fewer to operate things. Here in Minn., state parks are currently open, but no one is manning the booths to sell park passes. Of course, all buildings are also closed.

In accordance with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services' recommendations designed to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the DNR announced a series of closures at several state-managed facilities through May 15. Effective immediately, all Michigan State Parks have been designated as semi-modern until May 15. This designation means that all restroom and shower facilities at currently open state parks will be closed during this time. Vault toilets, potable water and electricity will still be available during your stay. If your reservation was made for a park that was supposed to have these modern facilities with restrooms and showers available, your rates will automatically be adjusted after you have completed your reservation. You do not need to contact the reservation center to receive your refund. We appreciate your understanding as we navigate through this very fast moving crisis. To stay up to date on the current closure status of Michigan State Parks please visit michigan.gov/DNRclosures. For current and up-to-date information regarding the coronavirus visit michigan.gov/Coronavirus or CDC.gov/Coronavirus.

Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky and Tennessee just closed the 4 improved campgrounds. Hillman Ferry, Piney, Energy Lake and Wranglers. Dispersed camping sites, with no hookups, remain open for now. FYI, access to some of these sites can be tricky with larger rigs, mostly because of gravel roads with somewhat steep hills.

Welcome stations and activities were already closed.

Canal Campground, which is just outside LBL and not yet open for the season, will not be opening 27 March as planned.
