    Essential or Non-Essential

The Governor has basically shut down Nevada for 30 days. My job with the school district was deemed essential until one of the shift supervisors at one of the other yards started showing symptoms. He has not tested positive as far as we know, but in an abundance of caution, the district shut down all of transportation. We were essential even though school was closed so we could catch up on maintenance and be available for the food service drivers delivering food to the less fortunate. So now I'm home till at least April 6th.

My wife works for a construction company and the Governor deemed construction (even residential) essential. Being an owner and corp officer also makes her essential from a business perspective. That's unlikely to change.

    What about you?

On a side note, I guess I now have take on the new role of being chief cook and bottle washer. That means I'll have to cook the meals and greet her at the door, wearing nothing but an apron, with her favorite cocktail in hand...

Retired [emoji16]. So not essential to anyone. Although, greeting with just the apron might help pass the quarantine we're all under. [emoji2960][emoji57]

Electrician for a natural gas company. I get to be essential also. Wifey is a nurse. A lot more essential than me. I’ll never tell her that though.

I’m in high rise construction in NYC. The governor has deemed construction as essential services. Currently we are building a 47 story residential building.

Non essential. Retired. However I did spend $120 for bark dust at the local yard products business. So I essentially helped with their business.

I think I was considered non essential by the people who worked for me for years. Then I retired and proved it!

We are essential: DH is in the transportation industry moving goods, providing services to support the country's infrastructure and I'm a domestic engineer keeping things running at home while he's away.
