OK to partially extend hydraulic slides?

I know you should not partially extend schwintek slides because the motors can get out of sync, but is it ok to partially extend hydraulic slides? Thank you for your help!

I've never had any issues doing it, and I havent seen anything in the owners manual stating not to do it for a hydraulic slide.

I was told not to partially extend them at the dealer when I picked up the unit - either fully in or out. Looking at them operate, I think that seating the frame of the slide in the wall opening when fully extended provides support and rigidity that you don't have when partially extended. If I have to stop when extending, I don't put any weight on it until the slide is seated in the wall opening.

Most people that partially extend a slide do so to provide access to something such as fridge or pantry. If you want to sit on the couch or something , then yes I'd recommend fully extending the slide. As noted above, the Schwintek should only be fully retracted or extended to prevent out of synch issues.

Same here as well. I've done it several times while mine is in storage to access and turn on the fridge a few days before a trip. Usually on mine the curb side slide will go out halfway before the streetside one starts to move, that gives me plenty of room. No issues at all doing this.

This makes sense - I was thinking in terms of gaining access rather than putting weight by sitting/standing in a partially extended slide. Thank you!

We partially extend our kitchen slide quite often when traveling. It's the only way to access the bathroom on our 376. 3 1/2 years and no problems.

There are isolator valves for the hydraulic slides so you can move only one at a time if you want to. On our 310 they are located above the curbside propane tank. You may already be aware of these.

Yes I knew about the isolator valves but thank you for the reminder. I need to play with those and mark them which is which. It's one of those things I need to get "around to" lol.
