    2017 Reflection 337rls

Anyone have any experience with the receiver hitch on their Grand Design Reflection or any other Grand Design RV? The sticker above the hitch states a maximum weight of 300 lbs. Is that tongue weight or two weight? I have a Honda PCX150 and a cycle hitch that will be right at the 300 lb limit, maybe a few lbs over. Will it cause any damage to the frame or structure running at this weight? I haven't tried it yet, waiting to get opinions on what other owners have done. I may have to ditch the carrier and just double tow a small trailer for less tongue weight on the hitch.

If it's states 300 lbs., you put more than that on it and it breaks, you're not covered by warranty. We have a Swagman RV bike rack with two comfort bikes on the back and it does fine. My main concern is the extra G-forces the carrier is subjected to bouncing around on the back of an RV. RVs are built and suspended differently than a passenger vehicle. The receiver is also a fair distance behind the trailer axles. Finally, the receiver was not designed for towing - there are no eyes for safety chains and no wiring for brake and running lights. Just my two cents worth...

I'm not sure how well this would work nor how much hitch weight it would generate but I have looked at this as an option if I had a hitch installed on my 5th wheel. You can backup with this option and would just act as extension of the 5er.

I had the factory hitch removed and had a new hitch welded properly to the frame. The factory Hitch is in my option is not attached to the frame very well. I was told it was for just a bike rack at most.

Did they weld the original hitch to the same attachment point or is it a whole new hitch welded to a different spot? If you could send some pics I would appreciate it.

The the factory hitch was removed and a new Class two hitch was built and installed and also a 7 pin RV Plug was installed. not all of the 7 pins were used, lights backup light and power were hooked up in the plug.
I can try to post pic if you would like.
