Yea because a Superduty has WAY heavier frame, transmission, suspension, axles, brakes, etc. It’s just way more truck, so yea payload is reduced.
Which is why buying a 3/4 ton is kind of dumb if you want payload, just get a one ton.
It’s like buying a truck with half a bed.

Resistance is Not Futile, It's Voltage Divided by Current.

I get that. It just means I'll need to look in the 350/3500 type when I'm ready to get a big boy truck.

Yep but your 1500 doesn't have a 1200 pound diesel engine to carry around. The 2019 F250's were saddled with the 10000 GVWR so that means the empty truck weighs 8032 pounds, quite a bit more than a half ton. I agree though, a diesel 3/4 ton is not a weight carrying monster lol.

I believe many go with 3/4 ton trucks due to various states regulations, laws, fees, insurance, etc from what i read over the last few years. Some states you pay on weight like New Jersey. My insurance rate was not drastically changed either when I went from 3/4 to 1 ton. If anything I was able to get more coverage for the same price. However, other states view 1 tons differently depending how they are classified by the state. I think the truck purchase will depend on your situation and requirements. I know when I replaced my F 250 with a F 350. I was going to just get another F 250. Then when I was looking at the prices on vehicles, a 350 was not out of the question and I would be more willing to upgrade my truck for next to nothing. At the time of purchase, I was not planning on getting a new trailer so soon. In hindsight, it would up being a good purchase.

My 150 had a payload of 1675 and the 250 has a payload of 2828. I could have gained another 700 to 800 payload by going to a 350, but this 250 put a check mark in all the boxes for me.
A near by dealer had a ‘19 350 in the wrong color and lacking several of the “doo dads” I wanted. So we did look at a 350, just not what we were looking for.

A F250 diesel with a 2828 lb payload was unheard of prior to model year 2020. The same equipped F250 in a 2019 or prior year would have a payload of about 2,000 lbs. The reason is they raised the GVWR from 10,000 to 10,800 lbs in model year 2020. That’s a big jump.

Made the maiden voyage with the 250 and quite impressed with the power and stability over the 150. I set the cruise control just above the speed limit and had no issues with the hills of East Tennessee.

Payload (Yellow) Sticker from my 2019 Ford F250 Platinum 6.7 Diesel (10000 lb max payload) with 3.55 Axle Ratio (mine: 2174 lbs of available payload). My configuration has the Snow Plow Prep Pkg, but not the 5th Wheel Prep Pkg. This may explain the differences between the 2 Platinum trims.
