    Cold Weather

    Hi all,

Just a quick note. Last night we were in Boise City Oklahoma and tonight in Levelland Texas. It was 16 and snowing lightly this morning when we broke camp to head to Levelland. Our 337 was quite comfortable last night and again tonight with the temperatures in the teens. It is much more comfortable than our previous 5th wheel would have been in this cold weather. We are very pleased with the performance of the 337 in this bitter cold weather.

    Thanks,
    George

That is really good to hear. Did you have both the electric fireplace and the furnace on? What did you have the thermostat set to? Was there much difference between the living room and the bedroom? BTW, we were 78 degrees today in Tucson...

When we were out last week it was 23 degrees in the morning. We used the fireplace in the evening, but ran only the furnace at night so the holding tanks would be sure to stay warm. I had the thermostat set at 70 and had to turn it down during the night! Our previous trailer was always cold in the bedroom with only the furnace, but not the 337! The only place that I felt a little chill was in the curbside slide, but that is the farthest from the fireplace. We ran our dehumidifier to keep the moisture down and there was only a slight fog on the bottom of the windows in the morning, but the blinds were also drawn preventing ventilation. I was very pleased!

Great to hear. I have been very interested in this as. Our last 5th wheel was very cold inside no matter what. It made camping in colder weather miserable for me.

Our 337 is much warmer, I am even covering up the vent in the bedroom because I find it hot up there at night. We use an oil filled and the fireplace in the living room with furnace set to kick enough to keep tanks from freezing. Never having a bed slide I was concerned it would be cold but not at all. We bought this trailer with winter cold weather camping on our minds and we are loving it so far.

    Hey all,

We too are veterans of cold weather camping and can attest to the abilities of the 337 to keep one warm during cold weather. This time we are in Kerrville, TX and well below freezing. Like others we use the furnace at night to keep the tanks from freezing. But did you know that the Atwood heater can dehumidify the caper too? The "Dry" function is used to perform this function. Once the coach is warmed to the desired level, turn on the dry function and let it run until the humidity dissipates. Uses the AC and cleans up the humidity pretty quickly on low fan.

    Hi Jim,

We run the furnace and the Fireplace in the day time and only the furnace set at 62-65 at night. The bedroom vent is covered as the bedroom will cook if it is left open. When it is above freezing and we don't have to worry about the holding tanks, we have just run the Fireplace on low for the night and it remains pretty comfortable. We do not have any water in the 337 at this time, so only concerned about the gray and black tank valves staying warm.
