    Fifth wheel towing package?

Does anyone know if I can tow a 2020 Solitude 310GK with my Ford F250 Super Duty Short Bed 4x4 Crew Cab truck which came with the factory puck system with an Anderson 3220 Ultimate 5th wheel connection(gooseneck mount)? I'm afraid I might have clearance issues and can't get a consistent answer from dealers I ask.

You can tow it, but you'll be over the payload limit of your truck when the trailer is loaded.

According to the Gd website, the hitch weight (dry) is #2350 which is over the available payload I have in my 2011 F-250 CC with a 6.7. You did not provide the year or indicate if you a gas or diesel so there is a potential you "may" have the available payload.

Geoff - I'll see your 2,350 lbs. and raise you 930 lbs. (you're betting on the right hand, though). Our 2020 310GK-R scaled at 3,280 on the pin - and that's with lithium batteries, empty tanks, and before the addition of a washer and dryer. I wouldn't put that on any 3/4-ton truck... especially a diesel.

I'll see the 2,350 lbs. and raise 550 lbs. My 2018 310 GK scaled at 2,900 lbs. on the pin. In my opinion you're asking for trouble with a ¾ ton truck.

No way in my opinion a 3/4 ton is suitable for the 310GK. In fact, when I was researching my next trailer, while I wanted a 310GK-R, I decided my 1 ton SRW was not enough.

I've seen this a number of times on other forums (just a few times here). They don't like the answers they get so they go somewhere else looking to validate a poor choice. A fellow Escapee full-timer has a name for this... PM me if you want to know what it is. It's rather cute.

Agree that there will probably... (undoubtably!) be payload issues, but the OP was asking about cab clearance with a short bed & a specific hitch & trailer combo. Seems he got zero answers to that question. Perhaps that's the reason he never replied?

Cab clearance would be the LEAST of his worries, even if it's a gasser!
