I suppose a change of theft protection strategy is in order since there doesn't seem to be a way to secure the plate. Maybe some hefty chains through the wheels. Or one of those wheel lock devices like the traffic cops use on cars to lock them in place when they get a parking fine?
Or the extreme solutions...
... spot weld the bolts?
... remove the plate and use a king pin lock?
... remove a tire (or two)...
... find a storage lot that is more secure?
ok... enough of the silliness.... i'd just be looking at a way to lock the wheels I think.Larry KE4DMG

Yes I was looking into a wheel lock. Just don’t want to loose the adaptor for kingpin. They are on back order and if stollen the pullrite hitch is junk. You can’t find the 2400 quick connect hitch in stock anywhere because of the adaptor b/o
I got lucky and found the hitch on craigs list

I suppose removing it would be the easiest like you said and use a kingpin lock

Superlite kingpin lock
I emailed Pullrite & this was their reply. I have not tried this yet! If anyone tries this please let us know…
Thank you for reaching for a lock for the 2600(20K) SuperLite. The best kind of 5th wheel king pin lock that will work with the SuperLite adapter, is going to be the style of 5th wheel king pin that sits in the center portion of the king pin where the jaws of the hitch would grab the king pin. Below is a photo example of this type of king pin lock.
This would be placed on the thin shaft portion of the SuperLite ball. This prevents the ball from being couple with a conventional 5th wheel hitch plate, by not letting it drop down far enough to be grab by hitch jaw, or SuperLite coupler tube.
