How long does it take you to set up and break down?

I'm curious as to how long it takes others to level up, hook up, etc. at a campground. Also how long when you're leaving to break camp and get on the road?

I'm new to this and it seems like it's taking me a long time. Just leveling up and unhitching in my yard takes at least an hour. It's that pretty normal? Seems like I always have trouble getting the hitch off the ball.

    I've got a 2500 RL which is a travel trailer not a 5th wheel.

Never timed it, but set up we can usually do in about 1/2 hour. Break down and on the road we generally allow about 1-1 1/2 hours, but we're usually on the road faster than that. Auto level helps.

Now, that's actually something that you get "better" at the longer you do it. I have a check list that I carry during each process just to make sure I hit all the "must dos".

We’re in a fifth wheel, which I think is easier / quicker. Once I drop the front jacks and move the truck , we’re level , slides out and running the ac in about 15 minutes. Auto level also. I level first , then do outside hookups while my wife does slides and inside. Breaking down is close to the same , once the tanks are drained & flushed. I do the tanks while my wife is getting herself and the inside ready.
Try to establish a routine and share duties. It’ll get quicker when you have done it a few times and are more comfortable with the process.

Set up around 15 minutes. Break down is around 30 minutes.

We were in a Travel trailer before the Reflection 303. The first time we hitched the 5th wheel, it was like...thats it, we're done? really !?
The first thing I noticed is how much faster and easier it was to hook up and unhook the 5th wheel compared to the TT. Not having to mess with weight distribution and sway bars saves more time than I thought it would.

Things will go quicker and smoother as you gain experience.

Like others have said; break up the jobs. But cross train so that each other knows what's going on. DO NOT GET IN A HURRY

I see some wife's sit in the truck till all the set-up is done... ???

Make sure to all the jobs safely and don't forget to do the walk around. Both people should do the walk around so that nothing is missed.

For my travel trailer, at most 1/2 hour for setup, including the initial non-automated leveling. I will note that using a LevelMate Pro, and the Andersen Levelers, has greatly sped up that part of the process. But, even with using lego blocks or wood, with experience, you get to know how much to use, and how to lay it out. I do cheat, and have the DW help a bit at that stage. Water, sewer, electrical are very straight forward. As soon as whatever part of that that would be less convenient with the slides out is done, the DW puts them out, and takes care of whatever has to be unstowed inside. Getting ready to go - depends on how much pickup/stowing has to be done inside. If I'm doing a full, super duty clean out of the black tank, it may take an hour. If it is just unhooking and going, I can have everything hitched and ready to roll before she is done with the inside. Maybe again, 1/2 hour, if I'm putzing around.

Well, I do the auto level, then move to setting up inside (slides and all), while my husband does all the "outside" stuff.

This is how we do it. My wife does the inside and I do the outside. set up or take down. Thirty minutes sounds about right. We are never in a hurry to leave.

30 minutes tops from completely setup to driving away. 20 minutes from backing in to fully setup.
