    Peeling wood veneer

I have a 2020 29RS. Within 6 months I noticed that the wood veneer applique on the bottom stile of the sliding door between the bedroom and bath was peeling off. I contacted GD customer support about getting a new piece of the adhesive-backed veneer. After a couple of days I got a call back saying that they didn't have that as an individual part, and instead, they would send me a whole new door. Sure enough, about a week later a new door arrived. After transferring the hardware from the old door, I got the new door hung, good as new. Just wanted to pass this along in case anyone else runs into this problem. I congratulate GD for standing behind their product.

If anything rubs on the veneer, the outer layer WILL rub off. KEN

The bottom edge of my bathroom door is doing the same thing. As with you, simply replacing the veneer is not an option.
Now, the door is backordered - so no idea yet when it may arrive.

We r out of warranty.. 2020 new to us 2970rl. Guess we will contact GD and hopefully don’t have to pay out the nose for a new door. Our Bathroom door is peeling everywhere, as is the laminate on the island and hutch area. Darn..

Shipping would be more than the door likely

You’re right. We’ll just have to glue it back on. Just very disappointed in GD’s workmanship and product choices.

You could get a very thin slice of ABS plastic and glue it in place. Not many colors to choose from but very durable.

My trailer isn’t doing it. I don’t believe it to be a “workmanship” issue

I too have a 29RS and it's doing the same thing. When I get to this repair, I will change the vent a bit so divert the air away from the door panel. The wife does not want me to remove it. That was an option I thought about.

Our 2020 295RL also has(had) a sliding door into the bedroom that had the blistering finish of the veneer. Actually it is not a veneer, it is contact paper! Our door also almost covers the vent in the floor and the heat caused the problem. We tried removing the door and using a heat gun and roller to press down the bubble but it didn't last long. We finally just removed the door permanently and haven't missed it a bit. It is sad that Grand Design is using such an inferior material in an area that can become so warm.
