Changing a Queen to a King.

I have been looking at and wanting to buy a Solitude 380 FL-R for some time now. Recently a prospective seller of a 2020 model tells me - The RV will include a brand new (never slept in) queen mattress and pillow set. The buyer can easily convert into a king size mattress if desired. Grand Design (like most manufacturers) uses plain old 3/4 inch plywood so all you would have to do is cut new plywood to fit under a king mattress supplied by the buyer. Is it that easy. Please?? What else is different with the King bed option?

Thanks in advance from a hope to be full timing owner soon.

You may have to pull side tables off the slide out wall also.

There are usually some attached for the queen standard, but the king fills the slide.

3/4" plywood is not used. It's thinner. From the factory, there is no difference in the box construction between a queen and a king. If you're going to upgrade to a heavier residential mattress, when you re-deck the box you'll want to add some bracing as the span is a little long. If you have the lift up storage versus drawers, you'll likely need to change the assist struts.
