    Battery Replacement

I know this has been talked about a lot but I wanted to make sure of a few things before I decide to spend the money on Lithium batteries.

    1. For the price and quality is battle born my best bet and does anybody know of a better price then $949.

    2. Can I drop 2 Lithium batteries in to replace my 2 FLA batteries in which all the wiring and connections remain the same? (I know I will have to change converter\charger).

    3. Just like second question can I just drop in a new Converter \ Charger to replace the OEM and keep all wiring and connections?

    4. Is the Progressive Dynamics Converter one of the better choices?

    5. I want to keep my Res Fridge and Possibly Max Air fan or a Dyson fan running thru the night will 2 100AH batteries be enough?

    6. Can I charge the batteries with TV when traveling and if not will 2 100AH batteries keep the Res Fridge running for 6 - 8 Hours?

    Thanks

1- Battle Born makes excellent batteries. At the $950 price point, I'm not aware of anybody that makes a better battery. I've heard of some folks getting them for under $900 with a group buy but I think that is the exception. I've also heard you can a bit off the $950 retail price if you order several directly from Battle Born.

I'll let you know about #5 on Friday. I'll be boondockin' tomorrow night. I won't be running the fan, but will be running the furnace most of the night. KEN

The residential refrigerator is an amp hawg. 2 lithium batteries are not enough if there are other things using the batteries. My furnace needed to run most of the night, so the frig got turned of for 6 hours. KEN

Can you expand on your answer to question #6 ? Is that a yes to both parts of the question?

I read the question again ("6. Can I charge the batteries with TV when traveling and if not will 2 100AH batteries keep the Res Fridge running for 6 - 8 Hours?")

I towed my 2019 Solitude 373FB-R for up to 10 hours with the fridge running and with two lead acid batteries and the fridge was still running when I arrived. That was with the batteries getting charged from the truck. I don't know how much battery life I had left when I arrived so I'm not sure if the fridge would have run the whole time without the truck providing a charge. But, if you're plugged into your truck while towing (and your truck is wired properly), it will charge your RV batteries. Not much, but better than nothing.

I now have two LiFePO4 batteries and a Victron BMV-712 battery monitor so I'll be able to more closely monitor the batteries while towing with the fridge on. I'll learn a lot more about how the batteries perform next month when we hit the road.

I'm doing pretty much the exact same as the OP except I want to run my 12' RV fridge.
2 LiFeP04 batteries from Battle Born
    Victron BMV-712
    300 amp Fuse
    60 amp Progressive charger
    2000w Inverter
I have a single 195w solar panel plus I checked my 2020 F350 and it's putting out 14.0 - 14.1 amps to the trailer. I bought a Curt 57003 adapter from Amazon that fools the truck into thinking it has a trailer connected to it. This allowed me to check the power output at the 7 pin connection.

Glad to hear the batteries last to keep the fridge running until you made it to your camp site.
This site has made me spend more money on things I didn't know I needed.

There is a bit of battery charge lost, even with charge coming in from the truck. I think the meter said 2% of state of battery charge. I think that would be 4 AH out of our 2 100A lithium batteries. KEN

    Another quick question.

If I buy the batteries and converter I'm not sure I would have time to put the new converter in before our first camping trip.
Can I charge the lithium batteries off of the original OEM converter temporarily until I get the new one installed?
