    shake down trip

Picked up our new Momentum right before Thanksgiving and this weekend is supposed to be nice weather so we are headed to Cajun Palms to give it a good shake down before we head to Fort Wilderness for Mardi Gras. If anyone is close come by and say HI.

Mardi Gras! Wow, that's coming up quick. My first MG was in 1975, and I happened to meet this pretty girl there which I later married. So in Feb, it will have been 40 years since that first date.

Good luck on your shake down and enjoy that new rig.

We were thinking about camping this weekend too. Maybe we might be at Cajun Palms this weekend. We shall see if we didn't have anything else planned. Let us know how Fort Wilderness turns out, that was the main reason we upgraded to the toy hauler is so we could go to Fort Wilderness and bring everything we needed without worry.

This will be our 12th trip to Fort Wilderness. I have been using my Father-In-Laws truck to go and haul the golf cart but he is getting busier in the horse show stuff and I was a a bit nervous towing the golf cart behind the fifth wheel we had so I went to looking at the toy haulers. That led to getting a Momentum. Here is a picture of how we were traveling:

And here is a picture of one trip to the Fort, site 623:

That rig is defiantly a safe way to travel. Did you get your Monentum in Carencro area or Hammond area? We went through Primeaux and "SuperDave" was super nice and pretty knowledgeable of the manufacturer.

I talked with Primeaux quite a bit but we could not make a deal at the time on a 355TH. Then I found out about the 380TH and waited on it to show up. When it did, I took measurements of the overall length because one of my requirements was the new toy hauler had to fit inside my rv storage shop. The 380TH was to long and then the 355TH's had been dropped from production. I then watched the internet looking for a 355TH and found one in Buda, TX, a 2014 hold over, so I made an offer and they accepted it. It was a smoking deal so I drove to Buda to get it.

So far so good. Three small things that had to be fixed. The biggest being my daughter locked herself in the bathroom. Seams the lock would lock from the inside but not unlock. Second was one of the lights above the couch the led panel fell out. The last was the light above the stove was very dim. Pulled the panel and then it quit all together. Flipped it over and it worked very bright like it should so I reversed the wiring.

The surprising thing is there are 5 Momentums and 3 Solitudes here at Cajun Palms.

Our bathroom lock doesn't work right either. Since there's just the two of us, we didn't worry about getting it fixed.

It was a very easy fix. The little knobs have a little tab that have to line up with a little pin inside the latch. Took all of a minute to fix.
