I’ve read there is a shortage of trucks looming, I would pull the trigger sooner rather than later.

I tow 14k combined with the 6.0L, it does okay, 2300-2400rpm on flat ground at 67-68mph. Then 3100-3200 uphill to hold the speed.

If I were in your shoes I’d also consider an F250 with the 6.2L, it’s power splits the difference between to the GM engines.

I completely agree on the Chevy grill. I don’t think I could ever own one.

The selection is getting slim. I stayed away from Ford due to the whole death wobble issue. It may be a low chance, but I just don't want to worry about it. I'm looking at two dealers, one Chevy and one GMC in the 6.6. Each dealer has at least three of the same truck at the same price point I've been looking at for the past month. These trucks have probably been on their lots since late last yr, so they're going to have to want to move them I figure and stop with the strong arm tactics. I'm preapproved for financing and think I might take a risk and see what the incentives are on Tuesday. I don't see them going down or away honestly. I could put a deposit down on the Chevy tomorrow to lock in my offer with the incentives, but if I wait till Tuesday and the incentives do happen to go away, I'll just see if they can give me the same offer. If not, then they're willing to hold onto it I guess and not move it. The Chevy is cheaper but if they won't still honor the offer they gave me after Monday, then I'll spend a little more and just go get the GMC. It's more expensive but I like it and the dealer better. Hoping they both have better incentives starting Tuesday.

Just towed from WA to Ohio and the truck did great. Plenty of power and handled my trailer well.

I did buy it. I bought the 6.6L Gas 2500 work truck with an 8ft bed. Plenty of power and handles the trailer well. I don't really get on the truck in terms of flooring it. I never tow above 65. I couldn't justify the cost of diesel and maintenance esp. if I wasn't going to keep it. With Covid, truck prices, at least mine when I looked it up recently seem to be holding good.

what kind of fuel mileage did you get. i have a 2011 GMC diesel that i love, but the thought of the repair bills (90,000 miles currently) scares me to death. However, there are none to look at here locally

I got about 8-9 mpgs while towing my mk2670. It weighed in near the max at 8,495 that it could weigh while traveling. When not towing, it's an 8 foot bed with no tonneau cover, I get between 17-19mpgs. I haven't followed the mpgs that closely when not towing though, and only go by the dash meter.

Thanks, would love to have one, but since i would be out 25-30000 on a new one, with trade in, i may as well use that 30,000 for any expenses on the diesel..
