    Phmadness,
But never mind, I'm going to do a deal on a 20k Reese.
I'm not sold on aluminum tubing.

I have the 20K Reese, pretty much same reason, the Anderson gets great reviews, but I just don't trust it, and I have seem them, as another poster said "wadded up" after accidents. I'm very happy with it, I highly recommend it. The only downside is that it's hard to see where you are in relation to the ball, hooking up alone, it takes me a few shots over what a "normal" gooseneck trailer takes me. I suspect I'll get better at it as time goes on, but I don't think it'll ever be as easy as hooking up a 5er. I'm willing to make that trade to not have a huge 5er in my bed all the time rusting away, or lifting it out when I'm done with it.

The good part is, you now have 2 businesses to sue when something happens. The Ford dealer who "wouldn't " sell you a new truck and the RV dealer who sold you a trailer that is overweight for your truck.

Oh man, I can't wait to be rich beyond my wildest dreams.
Screw campers, I'm going offshore racers next !!!!
    Don Johnson, step aside..
Busy day today. Gonna start downloading tunes from Miami vice !
What's with all this sue stuff ???
Maybe today I'll just go semi shopping, and end all this with a truck registered as an rv, and be over rated.
Oh wait, no, I'll wait to sue.
Gotta get my list put together of who to.
Let's see, tires, springs, Ford, rv dealer, who sold me diesel, who's sunglasses I was wearing, shoes, underwear, the list will get long.

They took all the weight savings from the aluminum bed and panels and put it into frame, breaks springs etc. That's how they got the towing up

Ok guys, I've been researching this, and you all are right.
I am over weight by a good bit.
Right now, we aren't in a position to up grade to a newer, drw truck.
We aren't planning on going very far yet with this unit, it's our retirement "house".
We're getting our ducks together, to get all the proper things in place.
All the years driving trucks, moving rigs, etc, i was conscious of those weights.
It never occurred to me, that F350's, weren't created equal, and a 1 ton, isn't a 1 ton.
Thank you for having me see this.
I did put alot of time, and money in my truck, and couldn't belive it wasn't up to the task.
I am getting a Demco, 21k for it, and even tho my tires are 6830 pounds, I'm going to get higher rated ones.
I have what I have, live in a rural area, and am only going under 50 miles, on camping trips.
Not justifying anything, but got things backwards, and will make do til we can correct.
    Forgive my ignorance, and bullheadedness.
Now to go back to enjoying our 376th, and learning about problems, fixes, and upgrades.

Great reply and no need to apologize. I learn something new every day - especially when it comes to RV's.

Kudos to you splatt, great reply! Everyone on here learns something new everyday about RV's and tow vehicles, I do. It seems everyone on here really looks out for each other and that's what makes it a great site! Enjoy the new toy!!
