Suggestions for replacing a factory mattress.

Hi folks, Dan here, I currently have a factory mattress in my Reflection 29RS which is 8 inches thick and 80x60. I’m looking to upgrade to 12 inch thickness with the same size mattress. Is there any issue with the headboard area resulting in overhang at the foot of the bed due to the 12 inch thickness. Any thoughts or comments.

We replaced with a residential mattress, same measurments as the mattress that came with it. You should not have any problems

60" x 80" is a standard residential queen size. You can pull the padded "headboard" off the wall and raise it up such that the thicker mattress lands against the wall as the current factory one does. I did this in our former Heritage Glen that had the same bedroom layout as your Reflection does, and I raised ours up in our 3350RL when with ditched the factory RV King for a standard California King Purple Hybrid 3 mattress (AWESOME SLEEP!!!).

I put a rather thick residential mattress in on day one, I had the dealer take the factory one out and never even saw it. I didn't move the headboard and never noticed it's height, now I'm thinking I need to go look at it.

We opted for a mattress topper from My Pillow. I quess it works...sleeping like a log, (whatever that means).

We tossed the RV king the second week and got a R5 Sleep Number from Camping World for less than what the Sleep Number Store wanted for the same mattress.

We just purchased a brand new 2021 Reflection 260RD and the first thing we noticed about the 6" Serta mattress was how cheap it was. We gave it away and bought a Zinus 8" queen foam mattress from Amazon for $156. After letting it expand, it measures about 7 inches thick, but the comfort is night and day compared to the OEM mattress

We have had our Solitude for 5-years now and last year we just couldn't take the original king mattress. We have a narrow king, I think that is what they called it. The only thing is that a residential king would not fit, too wide. We opted for a queen Lucid mattress which is night and day to the old one and love it. Since we have done this we have about 3-4 inch of the plywood under the mattress showing and I am constantly hitting it with my knees or side of my leg. My question is has anyone cut their plywood under their mattress? I am trying to convince my husband to do this.

Suggestions for replacing a factory mattress.

Here are three companies that make custom sized mattresses do with it what you will. I just made this list for my own purposes.
