Running inverter generator at high altitude?

I will be powering my TT with two Westinghouse 2200W portable generators hooked together when necessary when hookups are unavailable. My concern is when we take off for two or three weeks we often go from sea level to over 8000'. The manual says to change the jets when running above 3000'. Changing the jets while traveling would be a major pain. I've heard people routinely run their generators at higher altitudes without any problems other than loss of power at higher altitudes and without changing the jets. I was hoping to hear from people in this forum that use their generators at all altitudes and what they do.

We have the Onan generator, but purchased at sea level and now live at 5000'. I didnt change any jets and it still works fine, havent been to 8000' so I dont know about that level.

The Onans have an altitude adjustment on them. Haven't needed to adjust it though.

I have two Honda 2200s, we went to Convict Lake in the High Sierras and the lake surface is approximately 7,850 feet. I bet we were at 8,000 since the campgrounds are higher.
My Honda's ran without a hitch. I bought the jet kit just incase I needed it, but they are still in the package.

I live at 5280' and routinely camp with my two Honda 2200's at 7200' and 9200'. The Honda's never miss a beat with no adjustments.
