Why was 2850mk discontinued? Any problems?

We are first time buyers looking at a 2019 2850MK and love the layout and features-- everything we are seeing in the unit. However we're doing a lot of research and discovered that it is discontinued. Are there any owners here that can speak to the quality? Why would it be discontinued? Are there any other issues that you might be having? Alternative models?

Not enough sales to justify to continue building it.

What Steve said! Same happened to our 3350RL. It appears that GD makes decisions about sales faster than the other manufacturers we have had units from. Our floorplan exists across several brands, and are doing well, and GD had the strength of a better bathroom configuration in this desirable length configuration. During ownership thus far, we have encountered over a dozen couples who had the 3350RL in their sights for the next upgrade... I understand these decisions from the bean counting perspective, but as the tech/design perspective it is also a well understood concept that demand lags introductory returns for luxury purchases... One product I manufacture was dismissed when first introduced in the early 90s. Now it is the staple of the industry and knocked off globally since our patent ran its length. Sometimes it's the tortoise!

Nevertheless, if the model checks your boxes, within your means, then don't dismiss it because it didn't survive the cut of the GD finance team! Regardless of what you do buy, you definitely need to be satisfied with what you purchase! Regrets are expensive and eat away at the entire point - getting away from it all!

We saw pictures and specs for the 3540GK and like what we saw. Can't wait to see one in person. You wouldn't have one would you.
