I just got back from a trip from TX to CO pulling a 24' +2' v nose cargo trailer. 7' inside walls. I used my Equalizer hitch. If you have ever drove through west TX or from Raton north up 1-25 you know how bad the winds are.
I didn't see the trailer wagging the dog. What I felt was the truck and trailer being blown all over the road every time a strong gust hit. It was not just the trailer moving it was the entire rig. Also as I passed the big rigs I would get sucked in.
Since the trailer wasn't swaying I don't see how the Propride could do any better of a job. I think the DRW made the most difference
Based on this experience I am glad both of my RVs are fivers.Donald AKA johndeerefarmer

Hey Frank - it has been a bit. Our 2670MK has been sleeping too long, but at least we now have a long weekend planned for near Duluth. Last fall on a trip, I too noted "truck suck" and side pushes from wind, with the ProPride. When it comes out of storage, I'm going to spend a day or two resetting everything on it. May even call Sean at ProPride for ideas. The Airstream forum has a LONG thread on using ProPrides, and I picked up several ideas on things to check. My hunch is that my storage yard misaligned it a bit, since they insist on dragging the trailer around with chains looped over the front, rather than use the hitch adaptor I gave them. I'll report back toward the end of the month about what success (or lack thereof) I had in reducing the problems.

Hi Ted, good to hear from you. I would be very interested in learning what tweaks you make to your set up. We just got back from the Pequot Lakes area. It was Hot! Every day 89-93 degrees. Poor dogs had to spend a lot of time in the trailer which managed to stay 74 degrees through it all. I was happy with the performance of the air unit. We are back in St Paul for two weeks and then head for the Smokies.

Frank
We have our ProPride installed. Plan to take it for a shakedown cruise Sunday.
So far my dealings with ProPride have been awesome. I call with question, they provide answer immediatly
if not sooner. Instruction manual is well presented with pics and accurate information.
We did it slowly over 3 days of approx 2 hours per day (Temps in Georgia in high 90s).
Thanks so much for your very helpful advice along the way.

Bob A.[/Good Job! It took me 3 or 4 trips to get it dialed In just right for my situation but once I did, I love it. One of my issues was fighting too little TV payload and too much weight behind the trailer rear axle. (Imagine 2670 MK) The ability to change jack settings on the fly was fantastic. We now have have a 2970 RL that tows much better. We are headed for the Smokies late next week, hope it is a little cooler there. Again best of luck with the PP 3P and stay safe. ProPride adjustment question?
I am working on my final adjustments and working with the hitch height VS the Jack stand height.
What is the Maximum height any of you guys go on your Jack stands?
The Propride books says 8 inches is Max.
I am trying to stay in the proper range of Jack stand height.
Thanks in advance for your help:

Thanks Frank:
Sean suggested 3 washers. We took a trip to Savannah and I played with it 5 times. Best ride to-date is second hitch hole. 3 washers and jacks at 7 inches.
I was afraid 7 inches might be too high, glad to hear you are in that range. I realize that no 2 trucks and trailers are exactly the same but nice to hear
what others are doing.
Enjoy your Trip:
