    Trailer Tire Handling Question

Just put about 4,000 miles on our WestLake ST225/75/R15 LRE, they handled okay and I closely monitored them with our TPMS. PSI did fluctuate and temps got to 105 degrees, they seem to be wearing evenly as well.

Since I'm planning on heading to AK from FL and then back to FL this summer I plan on switching these out to Sailun 637 or Goodyear G614, my question is can I go to a G rated tire and has anyone noticed that the Goodyear or Sailun handle any different or how well they maintain PSI?

I have Goodyear G614, but I had them put on at the factory so I have no other comparison on my Momentum. I can tell you they hold pressure extremely well, even after 3.5 years and about 16k miles.

The Grated tires have a much thicker sidewall, so temps and pressure will not fluctuate nearly as much.

Just be careful with pressure. Too much pressure in a G tire can beat the trailer apart. Use the Goodyear inflation chart for your weight and the G614 tire.

The tires are the first part of your suspension.

You will have a tough (probably impossible) time finding a G rated tire in 15"

Depending when it was built, it may have 16" wheels on it. They switched at some point.

Good catch, I read right past the size.

Yeah, good luck on finding a 15" G range tire. I've never seen one.

Might as well just go with the Goodyear Endurance.

Purchased four new Goodyear Endurance tires from Discount Tire, traveled back from the tire shop I could already tell the difference in the side to side motion, these tires seem to be a lot sturdier.

Will post my thoughts after I head out to Spokane, WA from Florida on 6 July then hopefully off to Alaska if they open the border on 21 July
