Battery Disconnect on or off when connected to shore power or towing

I own a 2019 Imagine XLS 21BHE. Should my battery disconnect be on (battery is connected) or off (battery NOT connected, the red thing is dangling) when I'm connected to shore power or towing? I usually DO NOT have the battery connected when towing or connected to shore power but now I think I'm doing it wrong. Please advise.

The battery doesn’t charge when the switch has it disconnected. I almost never set mine to be disconnected.

The only reason to use the battery disconnect switch is to work on the electrical system - and then just using that switch is not good enough.

I was sitting here thinking about when I used it, and this is basically the conclusion I reached.

On when connected to shore power, or the converter won't charge the battery.
    Towing, probably doesn't matter.
You can look under the front of the TT to see the battery cable connecting to an auto resetting circuit breaker, thru it to the wire to the disconnect switch as well as tow vehicle charge wire and breakaway switch for brakes.

With the switch off (dangling) your fridge won't operate. That is to say if you run your fridge on propane while towing (like a number of us do), turning the switch off will turn the fridge off.
