Outdoor quick connect port spraying

Just pulled in camp ground and hooked up to water supply and to my surprise the outdoor quick spray port is spraying everywhere. I’ve had issues of it not attaching so haven’t used. I tried the screw driver to try and reset the valve but to no avail. Is there any thing I can do to fix until can get to shop? I’m causing a river by the camper and am having to turn off all water between uses to conserve ! Any tips are much appreciated!

Turn water off, and pull out the assembly. Standard size fitting behind it. You'll need to go buy a plug at the hardware store and a little teflon tape.

EDIT: this assumes, of course, you cannot get your spray hose on still...

Did you try to connect the spray port hose? Try with the water off and on. KEN
