Access Door for water pump
I am sure someone has done this. I wanted a faster way to get to my water pump in my Imagine 2970RL. So in the pass-through storage on the side of the utility center I made a door. Now when I winterize or need access to the water pump I just open a door and don't have to take out 10 or so screws and put them back in.
Rotate 180 deg, label up. I did not say I was a carpenter.Last edited by Tim&Lynne; 06-04-2020 at 07:03 PM.

I did the same to my 2970, also put one below the drawers in the bedroom for accessing the water heater bypass to winterize.

At this time I am sliding the bottom drawer all the way out and then removing it. I am not that good of a carpenter to make a nice door.

I used this https://www.lowes.com/pd/Oatey-Load-...Panels/3130137 from Lowes for the water heater access and painted it to match.

With our Imagine and now with our Solitude I have made doors out of the docking station side panels, nothing elaborate, just used some simple hinges and magnetic door keeps. Its much more convenient to access the water pumps and water lines behind the panels. For the Imagine easier to access the winterizing hose. For each I installed an "L" bracket at the top of the docking station / nautilus panel to the aluminum frame above to support the assemblies.

Seems strange that GD would not have provided a simple access to these valves (and other items like hot water heater) that would need to be accessed periodically.
Anyway, I thought about cutting a 6" diameter hole in order to reach in and turn the suction hose valve at the pump, and to route/return the hose inside compartment. Leave the hole open; maybe line the edge with rubber or plastic. Do you think that will suffice?

I plan to use one of these and make it a little more "finished" looking.
