It’s a fan driven heater, so the risk isn’t too bad. Not that hot, and probably not hot enough to burn. Better lesson to teach them what “hot” means than a campfire. Leave it there and use it as needed. Very nice to knock the chill off in the morning.

You can unscrew it, and then unplug it from the wall outlet.

Let it there for when your child is older and you want extra heat.

There is a guard of the heater and it's not that hot. Hardly a hazard. More likely bo be heard by the door closing on fingers or falling down the stairs

I guess I'll be the dissenting opinion here.

Removing the fireplace is on my to do list. I agree with all that have said that the electric heater is nice to have but it only needs to be a quarter the size of the "fireplace". The TV storage in that cabinet is also an issue, but in a year of owning our Solitude we have never even raised it.

Long story short, at least for us, the space could and will be better used other ways. In our case that entire cabinet will probably become a pull out table and storage with a built in electric heater. It all depends on what works for you. If you're handy with these things it's not that difficult to build the cabinet that you want. On the other hand, if you need to pay for custom work it can get quite expensive.

Good luck with whichever way you choose to go and please share what you do. You never know who might be inspired by your solution.

its definitely a waste of space, ours is huge, but we use it all the time. I wish they made it 1/3 the size so the fire and glass matched the small heater size. however, our cabinet on the 311 is only 6" deep so it doesnt hold much, maybe a good space for books or cans if you did a bunch of shelves.

@paradigmshift I know the frustration with a toddler, our 2 year old pushes the fire place buttons frequently, but he is learning it's not a toy. It doesnt get hot enough to burn him and the fireplace is nice to have on chilly nights and days when you don't want to run the furnace. You could always just turn the breaker off, at least on mine it is on it's own breaker.

Yeah, I recently received a price sheet from GD with option to put on the Reflection, Imagine, and Transcend.

Don't know a whole lot about it other than what is listed.

    Thank you.
Looks interesting. To bad it wasn't saying what brand equipment it would be.
    Like to see it a 3000 Converter/Inverter.

Do you know when this is available for purchase?

FYI, I purchased my rig from you guys back in October 2019.
Absolutely loved the experience. Love the rig even more.

Interestingly enough, I just talked with a GD Rep, and these prices are all for aftermarket install at a dealer. It's just giving an idea of what costs are through GD Part's.

It is NOT a factory installed option after all.
