    Idaho

    Hi fellow GD'ers
Gonna try something different late this summer and visit Southern Idaho. We have RV'ed all the way from Nevada to Florida, and have never been to Idaho.
    Any tips/suggestions much appreciated

Craters of the Moon is worth seeing. 93 is a very scenic highway, but it's curvy.US 12 too.

    US 12 east of Orofino.

Visit the Sawtooths near Stanley, ID. Beautiful scenery, decent fishing and old mining history to check out. There is great boondocking in the area but the campgrounds can be a challenge. Redfish Lake campgrounds are almost impossible to get in. Make campground reservations as soon as possible.

If you do get to Stanley, check out the river rafting in the link below. My son is one of the river guides this summer. . .

    Don't forget the hot springs!
All over the northern Rockies and Cascades. Volcanoes have a softer side!

We love Indian Springs RV resort near American Falls (about 30 miles south and east from Pocatello). They have a monster swimming pool that stays at 90 all year round. It is a little known jewel.

Like others have mentioned, Craters of the Moon and Stanley are scenic. If you go to Stanley, make sure you stop at Redfish Lake. The Camas Prairie and Centennial Marsh Wildlife Refuge are great areas near Craters of the Moon. Make sure you check out Thousand Springs and Hagerman Fossil Beds in southern Idaho.

My dad lives in Idaho and loves the hot springs. We're making our way that way in August. Thanks for the info.
