wash / wax TT
I'm looking to hire my 14 year old nephew to wax our TT.
Have had good luck with Mequiars car wash and Lucas slick mist spray wax on my truck / car. Plan to use 303 on decals and rubber trim.
Does that sound like a reasonable plan?

You can use any wax you like, carnuba can't be used on the decals but it seems you know this.

Besides the fact I have used Carnuba wax for years on TT's I have owned with no ill effects to the decals, none of the manufacturers of the RV's I have owned and now including GD have not indicated such a precaution in the exterior care section of their manuals. To the OP I would not rely on a spray on mist wax for long term protection, unless you plan to do it at least on a monthly basis. These spray on waxes are better suited for extra protection and to restore some gloss and shine to an already well waxed/sealed unit. My recommendation is to apply a good quality RV/marine wax, then every so often apply a spray on wax if you feel the finish needs some added gloss, shine and a little extra protection.

Funny you should say that. I started the beginning of the week to wash my trailer beginning prep. Had a few rain days and got back to doing a deep clean and prep today. I've been using Polyglow on my fiberglass travel trailers for a quite a few years now. It's a bit of work but the results are stunning and long lasting. Ask these folks before ordering I'm sure you'll get 10% off. There is enough in the kit to last a couple of years waxing.

I haven't used Mothers or any of the others. From what I've read it appears that the surface must be super clean prior to application for the best results. Some brands even recommend a cleaner which is basically like polishing prior to application.
If anyone wants a recommendation for a conventional sealant:
Over the years I've tried many brands but the best I've found are Blackfire products.
I've had good luck with this on my TT.

They also make a sealant without the cleaning ability which is very good. I use this on my truck after washing with simple green.

gonna get r done so just a quick question.
i was told by a grand design rep a few years ago that turtle wax would shrink and crack decals over time. that fifth wheel is now gone and the new one is here with a painted cap plus of course decals and decals on the sides. your opinion on Mequiar's 56? it has a blend of brazillian and carnauba wax. thanksJeff & Karen

Turtle or Meguiars it's still a wax and as such has solvents that are the carrier keeping it soft until applied. I believe that is why you were given the caution about the decals. But there are many here that claim otherwise.
One thing I don't understand is the desire by so many to use an automobile wax/polish/coating on a fiberglass unit more resembling a boat hull. For the most part the finish isn't paint but gelcoat, two different animals. My 2 cents.2018 F150 XLT 301a, Screw, 4x4, HDPP, Max tow, Andersen Ultimate w/ Curt Double Lock hitch.

I'm a geek when it comes to caring for finishes, as seen in my posts many times. My go-to for campers and cars alike is Klasse, and then I'll use a fortified detailer (sometimes with a natural carnuba, sometimes a nano-polymer - which depends on what I'm working on) after washing. I've used so many products professionally and as an extreme hobbyist building my toys it's ridiculous!
However, I have a confession to make... Soli is HUGE, and I have been nursing work done on my troubled back. So this season started with giving Soli a bath with my favorite Meguiar's #62 wash, and I gave the front painted cap the Klasse treatment. The rest of it was done with Wash Wax All from AeroCosmetics on the recommendation from Class A owners in our camping circle they have been using it 7 years and 12 years, respectfully, and their coaches are always ready for show! Now, I do NOT use any product without knowing what it is because I need to know how it will react. Wash Wax All is nearly pH neutral, water-based, and a mixture of surfactants and polymer waxes (not unlike Klasse AIO) and can be applied to any material on an RV as a result without detriment. Long story short, using microfiber mops - 1 to apply while camper is still a little wet from washing, and then a second to dry and buff - I RIPPED through getting Soli spiffed up! They sell a special double-sided mop head if you need one - I already have them because of washing the windows on the second story of the house. I'm pretty certain that I will need to apply more than the 2x/year I traditionally have done with Klasse, but ok with that with how easy it is - even Nikki was doing it and my lovely wife would need more than Mr. Miyagi training when it comes to wax on/wax off! So, this season it's going to be the product I use since I bought a gallon and spray bottle combo and make my decision for longer term.Rob & Nikki + Cloverfield

I have been a long time fan and user of Griot Garage's products and have tried others along the way and keep coming back to Griot's Garage for many of their detailing products. Others I have had good results with are Meguiars & Blackfire. For boats and travel trailers I have owned my go to has been Meguiars Flagship Marine Wax & Cleaner wax.
