I predict they will be selling 30' trailers being advertised as "able to pull with a Toyota Camry".
If they do it will be because that is what the public wanted. Everyone wants lighter now to be able to tow them with something small. May not be a good thing but if you don't make it someone else will and you will go out of business. I do agree tough there has to be a line somewhere that you don't go past.

You are correct. It's a win/win for the manufacturers. Sell more trailers and make them cheaper (more profits). I'm not just directing this at the RV industry, as it's true across all lines of products. I just find it fascinating that the current crop of trailers will have such a short lifespan yet are being sold and financed for 20 year periods. Does anyone really think these trailers will even last half that time?

Sorry, I've hijacked this thread. I definitely am going to reinforce mine as suggested above. thanks for info on how to do this.

I guess I better check mine out. I carry my golf clubs in one side and tire chocks, blocks and water jugs in the other. I guess I have a chore for tomorrow.

    Thanks for the tip.

Mine also cracked around the screws, even though I as careful with the weight. Just another thing to order and replace.

How do you order directly from GD? I don't see a way to do that on their website??

    RVs always need fixing
It is a house on wheels that goes thru an earthquake every trip

So I always try to fix items better than they were originally
It is a policy that has served me well over 25+ years of RVing
    Don’t just replace it
    Make it better
See my previous post in this thread as to how

You can’t. The GD website lets you look up the part number. You have to order it from a GD dealer. It’s interesting that, if the part happens to be one that’s used on many different RV’s, the part number provided is exclusive to GD.

Hi Rob - is there anyway you could post a couple of pictures of the modifications you made to the side wells?

That was on our previous rig (Reflection 337RLS). Our current rig (Solitude 310GK-R), having a drop frame, does not have these wells in the basement. sorry.

Don’t do it that way It will look like a patch job and will not fix the underlying issue
    Do what I previously posted
    Support it from underneath
I used shelving angle steel just because I had some laying around
One could use whatever even 2x4s

When done it will be many times stronger and will look like nothing was done
