    Attached links with narrative (always a fun read !) and pictures from Tom where he replaced the trays in his 337. Tom is a retired Gulfstream Jet Engineer and when he does modifications........they are detailed, precise, and done well.

    I'm thinking about putting some fender washers with the screws to see if that will help stop the cracking. Later on I might cut a piece of 1" aluminum strapping and screwing it all along the top edge. It would have to be fairly thin so it doesn't snag anything. Just a thought.

    The root cause of the problem is that the tray "hangs" from the flanges. Imagine how much weight a trash can could hold in this manner, vs if the trash can was sitting on the ground.
    You gotta support it from underneath.
