    Photos not uploading

So, I just posted a thread, and when I tried to upload photos, it didn't work. I used the insert image button above, selected the file, clicked upload and then...the box went away, and NOTHING happened. What gives?

That's not how photos are posted. I'm not sure why that "Insert Image" icon is even there. What you need to do is, when creating your post click on the "Go Advanced" button on the lower right of the posting window. Then scroll down about 1/2 way and click on the "Manage Attachments" button.

Click on the "Add files" in the upper right of the next window. And then "Choose file". Give it a second for the file name to show up and then click "upload" on the right in the little window.

After it uploads, it should show up in the lower portion of the manage files window, click "Insert online" on the lower right. Then click "done".

Something may be wrong. I'll alert out admin just be sure all is OK. So far this is the first notice of something going on.

Is that using the "Insert Image" icon on the tool bar? I've never been able to use that. I've always had to do the method I posted (much more involved).

Yes. I used the ICON in the tool bar. If “Select Photos” does not work you can click on “Basic Uploader” and try that way while still using the ICON.

The uploader is working using the quick reply window for me. Try again maybe it was just a forum hiccup

When I click on the "Insert Icon" icon in the tool bar I get a little window that has 2 tabs: "From Computer" and "From URL".

    The "From Computer" tab says:
Add an image from your computer
Allowed Filetypes: jpg, jpeg, png, gif
Then a box to "Choose file"
    Upload File(s)

I click on "Choose file" a window opens to my pictures files on my computer and I select one. Then I click "Upload Files(s)" and the little window disappears and no image shows up in my post.

I'm not seeing "Basic Uploader" anywhere.......

Another alternative is You can create an album in your profile, then view photo. In the view window there will be bulletin board code you can copy and paste into your post, the picture will/should appear full sized in the post

The code will look like this, this copy will be minus the end brackets so you can view what it looks like instead of the picture

The process is a little convoluted. First you have to attach (upload) an image. On a new thread you see that option below the text box or can use the paperclip icon but on a reply you have to click "go advanced" before you see these options.

Uploaded images display at the bottom of the post (see below) unless you place them in a post. TO do this (once they have uploaded) please you cursor on the line where you would like the image to display and click the paperclip icon AGAIN. You should see your file name there. Click.

I love that my other forums that I'm on allow drag & drop, or copy and paste for posting photos. Much nicer than going through 5 or 6 steps to do so.
