    Bilstein Shocks

Good evening folks. My 04 6.0 needs new shocks. I have always heard the Bilstein is the go to best. I am looking at the B6 heavy duty 4600 series as my truck is stock. Wondering what folks think?

So far I am finding the best pricing at Shockwarehouse.com. Are there better places?

    Thanks
    Keith

I just put Rancho 9000XLs on. I'm still playing with the settings but so far like them. I wanted the adjustability. So far I decided the lowest setting was too low; I have them at 25% now and they did good. I'm going to try 50% next - all this without towing yet. when I tow I'm going to definitely set the front on the highest setting to see what happens to the chucking and proposing.

oh - the porpoising.... gone at the 25% setting with a light load - love it!

I just put Bilstein 5100s on my truck. If you look at the Bulstein website they are good for stock and lifted trucks, but the 5100s are zinc plated vs painted. I'm happy with them so far, I had Rancho 5000 on previously and they only lasted about a year. I purchased them from Shock Surplus, price was great and shipping was free and super fast, no complaints so far. I went with a 5100 series for the steering damper as well.

Well I have a full set of B6 4600 on order. They don't make a 5100 for the front of my truck.

I swapped out all of mine for bilisteins a couple of years ago. I dont recall the exact model, but the stock shocks were toast. Some of them had almost zero resistance. The swap out was fairly easy and the ride was noticeably better after the fact. I did the work myself and other than a few rusty fasteners (Think i uad to cut one) it was fairly easy. No complaints here.

I just put Bilstein 5100's on my 2019 2500HD, the comparison from the stock Ranchos is like going from wearing a mitten to a very well fitted glove. I put Bilsteins on my last truck as well and felt the same way.

Well they arrived a day early - now to just get the time to put them on.

I also recommend the Bilsteins. My Tundra has the remote reservoir Bilsteins from the factory and it rides great. I also run the 6112 Bilsteins on my 4runner, they also ride great. I’ve had a couple other trucks with Bilsteins and they’ve been great on there as well.

I replaced my factory Rancho shocks with Bilstein 4600s about a year ago I can't say that they were way better but I do notice that the entire suspension and handling aspect is somewhat better, plus the price was right, I feel that these shocks were worth my $ and time to install. would purchase again
