Does anyone know if you purchase with residential fridge if it comes with two batteries or do you need to add the second one.

I think that may be up to the dealer. My dealer installed two batteries in all three of my Grand Design RV's. The first one didn't have a residential fridge.

Since the batteries come from the dealer not GD i would imagine not unless like bertschb they do that anyway. I had BB lithium's waiting so I don't know what would have happened otherwise

This is good opportunity to either ask for a battery upgrade to AGM or LIFEPO4 or give you an allowance and you purchase the batteries and let them install. My 2020 Solitude with residential refrig came with two Interstate lead acid batteries. Understanding battery usage and usable capacity to extend your time operating the refrigerator while on the inverter, is key.

I agree. I asked for a credit for the lead acid batteries and was given $90ea.

Thanks for the replies. My current RV that I'm replacing has residential fridge and came with two interstate 12v. It's going on three years and no problems. My longest day of travel has been 12h and it was -6 and 34 when I left and -6 and 34 when I arrived at campground. I do not do any dry camping. I will be picking it up Fri. and if I need to I'll just add a second one. If it only has one I will probably remove it and install 2-6v.

Traveling should be no issue, The truck should put out enough (or close to it) to keep the batteries charged while the refrigerator running.
