    Fifth wheel hitch?

    Quick question....
Does a Fifth Wheel hitch rise above the truck bed rails?
Can you still use a truck bed cover that rolls up?

    Mike.

My husband says that it does not rise above the rails.
Yes you can use a roll up in most circumstances.

    Quick answer . . . No and Yes .

More specific answer . . . my Reese R16 Slider hitch fits under my Truxedo Lo Pro soft roll up tonneau cover, with a couple of inches of clearance. There are probably taller hitches and hard tonneau covers that could interfere with each other.

Thanks for the quick replays. Guess it depends on which one I get.

I have a TrailerSaver rated at 24,000 with air bags and it sits below the bed rails.

I have a Reese R20...I use a Truxedo soft bed cover... No problem...

The hitch is finicky! I broke a PLASTIC part on the mechanism that unmatched the jaws...had to leave the hitch head hanging off the pin box. Fortunately we were at the dealership dropping of the 5ver for some work.

Mike--we have a Pull Rite Superglide 16K with a tri-fold hard cover and there is plenty of clearance.

Thanks for the quick replies. We are looking at a Reflection 337RLS (moving up from a TT).
I was hoping you could cover the bed when you are parked for a longer time.
Kinda discourages thieves etc. I would think ....
