ive stayed at Cracker Barrel and love it. nice to pop in for a breakfast before hitting the road to thank them for the hospitality.

also, we have stayed at cabelas - some of them have dump stations, power, and water in their dedicated RV parking. some also have restaurants. we loved it!

Maybe y’all have better Walmart clientele than I am use to, but I don’t like going into one, much less sleeping at one.

We stayed at a walmart one time near the Smokey Mountains, we called ahead and they told us where to park. We woke up in the morning to a couple of cars drag racing up and down the parking lot right near us.

We've never done cracker barrel, our RV is too big for their RV spots. We have stopped there many times on road trips and just take up a bunch of spots in the back or we find an adjacent parking lot.

My preference is truck stops, we can run the generator and it doesnt make any more noise than all the big rigs running. We can get fuel on the way in or out and they are right off the highway so it's not out of the way. Just remember to keep your slides in and steps retracted, those spots are tight.

Many (all?) Walmart’s have reduced hours. Much quieter!

We have never stopped at one, but it's a funny things about WalMart locations - they can change in a very short period of time. My wife and I lived in Las Vegas for a while, and we frequently went to the one on Eastern by the airport. If we woke up at 3 AM and felt like grocery shopping, we'd go. Every once-in-a-while you'd see an "interesting" character, but it was a pretty normal location.

We moved away and visited for a day trip less than a year later. It has COMPLETELY changed. They had armed guards, and these little camera trailers out in the parking lot. According to the checkout clerk when we were leaving (it was during the day and we had to stop for a couple of items), a few months after we left it went to hell. No idea what the change was, but something brought a bad element in and it remains. So even one that was "good" can turn quick.

I'm a little late to this.
We booked our 'monster' trip and noticed over 11 (One Night / Pass Through) stays all in private campground
So we hit "RV Trip Wizard" and found that we could replace 5 of those nights with "Walmart Stays"
Then, we called each of the Walmarts direct, asked if they allowed RV & if so, where did they want us to park
4 said "YES" and 1 said "Well, there is a sign not to..."
Shaved off $175 bucks from our RV Site Budget!

Now, we've never stayed at a 'walmart' before - so we will see how this goes!!

The AllStays app will tell you which WalMarts let you stay. Others probably do as well.

Have done a Cracker Barrel recently. No issues, parked and walked in to make sure it was alright. Nice to have a hot meal without leaving the parking lot.

I can usually find a casino that allows overnight. You don't have to gamble but the buffets are always nice after a long drive. Plus the wife doesn't have to do dishes.
