We spent last week in North Florida and it was high 90's each day. Like you we started a/c early at 75 degrees. It held the temp to under 78 during the day.
Late in the afternoon I went down on thermostat to 74. It held and we were comfy in bedroom. I closed one down draft vent and opened one in our 2450RL.
The only problem was we popped the breaker twice by using microwave. I assumed I could run a/c, lights, water heater and microwave but microwave
    created an overload.

The disadvantage of 30A. When we stay in a 30A site we routinely forget. 50A spoils you quickly!

For a technical instruction on how to deal with it, I’d suggest studying this video where Oliver instructs Lisa that you can’t plug in a 2 with a 6! https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4hdmoh

    Good point.
I plugged the 50 to 30 amp thinking maybe I wasn't getting the full 30 amp.
    Breaker still popped.

look into the smart start. Have to add one to each AC unit and is suppose to allow two ACs units on 30 amps and one AC on 15 amps. Check out YouTube.
Follow the following link to get a $25 discount on each unit.

Has anyone here had the smart start installed?
    If so by who?
    Thanks Bob A.

I was worried about my ability to install the smart start. Once you get into it, it is RIDICULOUSLY easy. On my Coleman Mach 15, i had to make three wire connections. I downloaded the 29 page installation instructions but its only pages 5 through 9 that you need. And they are so step by step that its truly dummy proof.

I found the most difficult part for me was 1, climbing the ladder on the 31MB and 2: removing the shroud cover from the air conditioner. Once I figure out to pull the back up first, and when replacing, put the back down first, its super simple.

If you can cut, strip and crimp wires and connectors, its really super, super easy (and I hate and am intimidated by electrical systems)

PS...my second one for the second AC is arriving today so I plan to take an entire 15 minutes and install that one tonight. The first one took me 30 - 40 minutes because I was reading and following the instructions VERY carefully. I may even be able to do the second one in less than 10 now.

Wow, you are really encouraging. I might have to try the install myself.
I actually hate messing with electricity but I can pull the power source.
    Good info, Thanks:
