You may not find these plugs at Home Depot/Lowes. You might have to get them online, or from an RV Supply store, i.e.: Camping World.

It’s 1/2”:NPT. Do yourself a favor and buy an original Atwood plug. Amazo sells it with prime next day delivery, 2ea for about $9. https://www.amazon.com/Atwood-91857-...dp/B0007XVWW0/

On my previous trailer a used 2008 Jayco Hybrid I had an Atwood water heater with the same style plug. I did have some leaking with the original plug it came with despite how much I tightened it and did use teflon tape. It eventually leaked. Therefore, I gently cleaned out the aluminum threads as the previous owner used pipe dope. Then each fall I cleaned out the tank with vinegar and flushed with water (lots of hard water in campgrounds), put in old plug loosely. In the spring, teflon tape on new plug and inserted. Never had another problem. Note that I did tighten the plug pretty much so the head made contact with the tank (i.e. I no longer saw any threads). Good luck.

One other thing that will make changing the plug (and tightening) easier is a "Wobbly" socket extension and the appropriately sized socket. A standard socket extension will not work because the socket is in a weird location behind the piping.

    Here is an example:
