I bought the Temper-pedic 2 inch topper from Bed bath and Beyond and love it. It's pricey ( 300 plus) but anything Tempur-pedic usually is. It is awesome to sleep on though, feels just like my King Tempur at home.

We cut ours to fit when we had an rv king in a previous trailer. It will open up your choices rather than trying to find one that "fits"

We bought one from 'matressinsider' on the internet. The foam is heavier and they will custom cut for RVs. Got the 2" for our odd sized king and the 3" for out bed in the house. Great product after about 10 months

If you have to cut foam, the very best and neatest way to do it is to use an electric carving knife (I may have dated myself - don't even know if they're made any more).

Something like this works, too. You can extend the blade out to make a long blade.

PS, I do have an electric carving knifge. I've had it for many years, Oh, I'm dating myself too.

Yup. Found one at Goodwill and it cuts that closed-cell foam like a dream.

    Safe Travels.

There are people who have found that putting a topper on top of the junk factory mattress is good enough. Looks like those who have replied already are among them.

There are also people who have found that a topper is NOT a solution for them. We tried two different 3" toppers on ours, one from Walmart, the other one costing nearly double and from a reputable Canadian company. Neither was enough to overcome the failings of the pure-junk mattress supplied by Grand Design.

So like a WHOLE bunch of people here we replaced the mattress entirely.

We bought a Casper foam mattress that we love, but others here have reported success with other foam mattresses costing less. One from Costco gets quite a few mentions. As you've already seen in responses so far, a foam mattress can be trimmed to size if the 72" X 80" size can't be found.

Some people have installed "regular" home-style coil spring mattresses.

Finally, some people have installed the expensive Sleep Number air mattresses and they swear by them.

The subject of mattresses is very well-worn in multiple threads here, so others who would advise you NOT to go the mattress-topper route may not show up in this thread. Search here for other threads about the factory mattress to get a complete picture before you jump at getting a topper.

    Good luck with your choice.

We went with the topper ourselves and thought it would be good enough. That lasted maybe a year and we went out and bought a mattress.
