Open the AC vents or close them

Open the AC vents or close them? Is it more efficient to use only the in-celing racetrack, or to also open the slide vents on the AC unit?

The slide vents? As in (what I call) the dump vents? If you open those, less air runs through the duct system. But, yes you get more air, faster. Generally we use those to cool down faster, when we first set up at a campground.

That is great. The "race track" concept is good and it does not blow down your neck, but when it is so hot, fast is best.

Agree, dumps open for fast cooling and then close them for maintaining as it allows your 2 or 3 units to share the work better. Oh, if you're set up like ours, you can only use one side of the dump in the bedroom because the other dumps the cold air on the thermostat causing it to short cycle. I'll relocate it one of these days.

Yeah, ours dumps on the thermostat, also. But we just keep it set at 55 degrees.
