Solitude 5th wheel is to high

Our first 5th wheel. Bought from private party... Solitude 310GK - 16 GMC 2500 w 20 inch wheels (factory),
bw g3500 companion hitch set on the 17 1/4 height. Spec sheet says this goon is 13'5"...whats going on?
Started to pull it into the 14' covered space, where my TT's have been kept and luckily stopped before the front a/c's top few inches crashed into the storage roof.
TX legal height limit is 14'. Anyone else with this assembly encountered height issues? Is this right or whats wrong??

I believe the height is measured without AC (or any other) additions to the roof. I could be wrong on that, though.

First question, with the setup are you towing level? The obvious tell is whether or not the gap between bed rails and the overhang is equal from tailgate forward.

I think GDs published heights include AC. Mine was listed at 13'5" and it is actually about 13' 4".

There are many bridges that are 13'6" so a 14' camper would be an issue.

I wonder if it is nose high due to some of the newer trucks having a taller bed height.

The published height on a Solitude is with the 2nd air. They all have them...

The trailer is probably running nose high.

Our Solitude specs listed the height as 13.5. We weighed our rig (details in signature line) which includes a height measurement at the Escapees site in Livingston Texas, it measured 13.6 feet to the top of the front AC unit. Our companion hitch was set to the highest level, I set the hitch down to the middle position and now we are right on the 13.5 mark.

You may just need to move the pinbox up into another set of holes. They are adjustable for height for this reason exactly. You want the trailer frame to be level, so hook up and put a 4' level up against the frame and see what you see. Adjust accordingly. If you can measure the rear frame to ground and then the front frame rail to ground.... they should be pretty close to the same. This is your goal.

Have you measured the height of your storage facility. Maybe the roof isn't actually 14'. It's hard to imagine your trailer is 9-10" taller than factory spec.

Our Solitude 310GK (2019) measures 13'5" to top of the highest A/C. Measured when unhitched and leveled on already level concrete pad.
When hitched, trailer sits almost perfectly level with the side rails of the truck. So I believe we are at that same height when hitched.

The side rails are a bit tight (vertically) when backing into the hitch. Due to the bed ramping up toward the rear of the truck when unloaded. As soon as the weight goes onto the truck, it goes down to level.

Our 2020 Solitude 310GK is 13' 5" at the highest point (top of front A/C) while sitting level on our truck.
