Just north of you, Cherokee (Gaffney). How you liking that section of 85 from where you are going north to the NC line? Wow, that's a truly horrific section of highway right there. I've towed my 351M 1000's of miles now, it's the 15 miles from my house running north or south on 85 that keep me up at night. What a nightmare.

The 250 and 350 DRW just don't make much sense when you compare the price of a 250 to 350SRW or 350DRW to a 450.
    Nice summary!!

Yes I’ve heard it’s a bad stretch. I don’t go that way much, luckily. I’m thinking about upgrading from a ram 1500 to a 2500 but that’s what’s holding me back is the taxes but I don’t think there as high as yours, but I’m not sure.

The difference between my 3500 DRW and a 450 would be a heck no! I've said it in other posts, shop with full understanding of total cost of ownership.

The registration fees in Oregon are the same for an F-450 and F-350 DRW. What is the difference in registration cost in PA between the two?

It's a difference of almost double! $220/yr versus ~$400/yr, then there's the insurance delta (holy cow) and then the tolls!

So if I get a 350SRW, I am in PA, what can I expect to pay extra over my 1500?

I have the 2020 2500hd with the 6.6L gas engine crew cab and I’m very happy with how it tows our Reflection 297rsts. The door sticker has a payload of 3554 lbs and trailering of 14,500 lbs and a gcwr of 10650 lbs if this helps. I have towed a smaller trailer with a couple different 1/2 ton trucks and it’s night and day how much better the 3/4 ton truck tows even with a bigger heavier trailer.

Your 2015 is probably at $64/year unless it came with options that make it class up, and then you're at $89/yr. My daily driver 2019 RAM 1500 is an example with 3.92s, tow pack, 4x4, and 6'-4" bed. With a 2020 F350, you'll be $220/yr (a 2020 F250 will be as well). Older model years could be in $170/yr depending on options. So, this helps you see additional reasons folks say skip the 3/4 ton and go to a 1-ton.

I wouldn't have hesitated to tow an Imagine 2670 with my old '09 1500 Silverado. I made the mistake of getting an '18 2500HD. Wish I had gotten the '18 3500HD instead. I now realize a 2500 makes no sense when you can get a 3500 SRW instead for the extra legal payload. Less to worry about if/when you upgrade RVs.

That said, if I'd have bought an '09 3500 DRW truck with a Duramax as my first purchase, I would have bought 1 truck in 2009 instead of 3 between 2009 and 2020. Just a thought...
