    Unhappy Haunted TCL television

We have an Imagine 17MKE and a TCL Roku television set. Every single time we plug in the 30amp cable, the television comes on by itself. No one at the dealership seems to know why. Does anyone else have this problem? They say it isn't an electrical issue but we have had our trailer for 1 month, we've had 2 trips camping and 2 trips to the dealer for repairs. The first one was to replace the inverter that was bad and the second was because the diode went out on our Dometic refrigerator.

Can't give you a "why", but I'll just say that TCL televisions are a piece of junk. Ours would randomly shut off when we were watching it. We finally replaced it after a year and half of playing the "turn on and reprogram TV" game too many times.

Could be some sort of power surge? Put a decent power strip with power filtering and surge protection on it and see what happens.

Same here. When we went fulltime, gave the TCL to a family member who needed one while in long-term rehab, and it worked for their purpose. For our purpose..not so much; we wanted HD and smart TV, so we just switched and used the one from our house. Lol...I'm spoiled. I need to have Y&R in HD!

While I haven't messed around with it, there are various Power Settings that are configurable as identified in the 142 page (!) manual.

Did you mean "inverter" or "converter/charger?" An inverter takes 12 volts DC and makes 110 volts AC to run things like residential refrigerators. An converter/charger takes the 110 volt AC shore power and runs your DC equipment and charges the battery.

As for the TV, while our 50" TCL Roku TV does not do what you're describing, I can tell you that some modern solid-state devices are designed to come up in the "On" mode after a complete power loss (like my wife's CPAP). I don't know why they would do that with a TV, though - and there are no related settings for this that I can find in the manual.

So I unplugged my TCL from the outlet. Left it unplugged for about 30 seconds. I had everything else on and was plugged into the 30amp source. Then I plugged in the TCL with the cable and other inputs attached. The TV came on as soon as I plugged it in. Therefore, I am convinced it is the TV and not the camper. I have not found any information how to keep this from happening so I have just left the TV unplugged until I'm ready to watch it.

I just had this happen Saturday morning when we had a hydro blip. I’m glad it happened when I was awake instead of in the middle of the night. It would’ve scared the s**t out of me. Very frustrating. Hopefully someone can get to the bottom of this.

This happens with our TV that came with the trailer as well. It is annoying to have the TV come on every time power is connected. I guess I can solve it by installing $5k or so of solar equipment so it is never powered off again
