    Cool Satilite Dish

Anyone have any experience installing a roof mount dish or dome? I'm looking for any info, especially routing wire through the roof or to the wash bay connectors or if the Solitude 369RL is pre-wired in any way.

    Thanks, Dave

Do yourself a favor, and get one of the portable dishes.

People mount them on the roof, then complain when they can't get signal because something is in the way, like a tree.

It's a whole lot easier to move a portable dish than the whole rig.

    A whole lot cheaper also...

I agree with huntr70. I have a winegard carryout that sets automatically and in some instances I've had to move it a couple of times to get reception. Mounted satellites receivers are not good if you camp where trees are present.

Why not do both. Have a portable dish as a backup for those sites where the trees are blocking your rooftop dish. This option is your most expensive route, but it does solve your problem.

I'm not sure how the wiring process would work for 2 separate antennas. I think it would be a pain trying to reconnect the receiver to the active dish. I leave my wiring intact and only have the dish wire to connect.

Thanks for all the input, the Carry Out won the battle, special thanks to; Dennis and Melissa ~ Western Kentucky for the detailed instructions on the wiring process!

I have a wineguard direct tv dish on my 369RL. They mounted it above the control panel so the could run the cable down through the cabinet and access power. The control box is on the top shelf. I have had no problems in the 14 months I've owned the RV. I am going to upgrade to a genie DRR in April.
