2017 Ford F-250, F-350, and F-450 SWB fuel tank issue

    https://static.oemdtc.com/TSB/17-0046.pdf

This is an FYI for those who own a 2017 Ford F250, 350, or 450 SWB. I was doubtful about the size of my fuel tank in my 2017 Superduty Diesel. After a trip, I was at "13 miles to empty". I filled up and it took 27 gallons. I had questioned my tank size which should be 34 gallons. after doing some research, I discovered that Ford had built the 2017 F250, 350 SWB trucks with the wrong tank. See the link I provided above. When my truck was getting serviced, I brought it to the dealership's attention. They confirmed the problem and I received the correct 34 gallon tank. I have shared this with other 2017 owners and I carry copies of the action in my truck. Good luck and I hope this helps some folks out. This will never be handled as a re-call. Note: the month the truck was manufactured does not matter. Mine was built after the dates defined in n the ford document.

When I had my 2017, was down to 8 miles to go, and only took 28gal. That one was built in August of 2017. That TSB is funny how reads - if built before 3/20/17, replace tank and sender. If built after, go to step 5... which replaces tanks, sender, and a few other things. Sounds like all 2017 with the 34 gal tank.
