A/C Condensation?
Good day to all! Sorry, on my phone and can't research the forum really well, but have a question on AC condensation. We've been out about 7 times in Texas in our Imagine 2500rl running the AC all the time. Its always on auto set between 72-75 degrees. We have never seen condensation on the inside roof or vents previously. However, we noticed it last night around the bathroom vents but I thought it might have been from showering. This morning though we woke up and all vents and the inside unit had heavy drops around them like the attached photo. Only thing different I feel is that I cleaned the filter since our last trip.
Wanting to ask is this normal (don't think so), does this signify a problem to check out, or what? The AC is a Dometic 15k unit and it is running great keeping us cool in the Texas heat! No error code on panel. Everything is running normal and good, and it does shut off and turn back on based on temperature. Just all the condensation on the inside has me questioning and wondering if I have a problem!

Forgot to also mention that we do have all 3 roof vents open and running the fan on 2 of them. 3rd one in bedroom doesn't have a fan.

Might want to try to keep your A/C fan on high, not auto. Also, it's most likely due to high humidity inside the camper, a dehumidifier could help eliminate this.

Showers, cooking, sleeping, lively conversation all add moisture to the air inside the trailer. We hang wet towels outside to dry and cook outside when it is hot and humid (bring food inside to eat in comfort). I do get WHY you might be tempted to open the roof vents while using the AC, but we’ve found that it’s more efficient to just set up a stand fan inside. We’ve also set up a fan outside while we’re cooking. It makes the heat bearable and cuts down on insects. N

Close your roof vents.
All you are doing is pulling in humid air and making the a/c work harder.
The warm, humid air at the ceiling is what is making your vents sweat.Steve- Inventory Manager at Tom Schaeffer's RV, Shoemakersville, PA www.tomschaeffers.com

Thanks much for the feedback and tips! Just closed up the vents this morning and will see how that does...so far so good! Also will be shopping for a dehumidifier!

If I needed to buy one again, I’d buy another Frigidaire. The one we have in the basement of our home has been brilliant. Relatively light weight with wheels that don’t bind up and fight you. It has been running nonstop for about 7-8 years now. It has never frozen up. Great, portable machine.
