    Satillite Receiver Placement

I have a '18 351M and getting ready to set up Dish Outdoor or pay as you go service. Can anyone chime in on where to put the receiver? No space inside that I can see working. Was thinking about making a shelf type placement in the compartment where the water controls are, since the cable input hookups are there. BUT, will the remote transmit to the compartment successfully (Im assuming it is FM transmitted)...?? Unless im missing something this has me stumped, surely others have it sorted out.
    Thanks for any insight

So you're going with Dish. Your receiver is likely will be the Wally. That'll go near your television. They satellite receiver dish coax to the input near your wet bay and then a coax whip from the plate near the TV to the Wally. Unless I'm misunderstanding your question.

Thanks for the response. However, what im trying to say is there is no room anywhere to put the wally receiver. Unless its very small and/or slim, there is no room. There is about 1.5 inches inder the TV and not much room behind it. Here are some pics to explain:

    -First shows the main TV
-Next is attempting to show the very narrow space under the TV, maybe 1.5"
-Then two of behind the TV, not enough around the mounting arm, and in the left side corner there is a small cubby hole kinda spot, but not very large.

Also, you commented that "so i decided to go w dish", lol, im i not right? I work outside my State so i will be gone maybe 1.5 to 3 mos. at a time, so my best option is pay as you go type deal. If something better please help me w that.

Ha-ha! No, Dish is fine. My sticks and bricks is so remote it is my only option. No complaints (unlike many you see on the internet) and we also have the pay-as-you-go for the camper with the Wally. The Wally is small. No larger than a econo Bluray player - footprint less than a letter size sheet of paper and about 1.5" thick. It does not need to be in line of sight for the remote to work. It is RF, but you're not going to have success penetrating walls, even camper ones. It can be hung right behind the TV in your situation as an example solution.

Although not the same area, I couldn't figure where to put the wally in our bedroom. The cabinets by the tv were too shallow. So... alongside the sliding closet door, and using the screw mounts on the underside of the wally, I basically hung it sideways. Works for us. So maybe hanging/mounting sideways.Click image for larger version.

You should have some cabinets above the TV in the entertainment center - that's where we've put the Wally in both of our GD fifth wheels.

What Rob said.... cabinets above. maybe have to put a coax from the TV area up and into the cabinet and then an HDMI down to the TV but since the Wally is RF remote controlled you won't have to go into the cabinet for the Wally's operation.

Appreciate it yall...its been like 8yrs since i had sat set up for an rv. I didnt know there were mounting holes under it. I will hang it vertically behind the tv after some good measuring. Last receiver i had was pretty big, like 2+" tall, and in the 10" x 12" range for footprint
