brake controller for 2019 Ranger
Picking up our 17 MKE with our 2019 Ford Ranger next week.
Have purchased a Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller but having issues with bluetooth disconnecting all the time.
Should I have purchased a different set up?
Recommendations please.
I am not very tech savvy.
Thanks in advance.
My apologies if I haven't posted this under the right topic.....

Does your truck have the tow package? If so, installing a standard brake controller is a fairly simple job. The wires are already in place.

The wireless units have been used with success by some with the Ranger. Don’t know why you would be losing the connection. The hardwired version sold by Ford is Redarc. It comes with a module that works with the factory emergency braking. If you get the non-Ford version, the computer can’t apply the trailer brakes in the auto braking function. Try searching the Ranger forums for help with your unit. I recommend the Ford version so you can take advantage of computers emergency braking function. Good luck

You did have one posted in the correct forum but it had no replies. I moved this one with replies too the correct area and deleted the other 2.
Please only post to one area, it helps maintain some organization and easier to find in a search of the subject
I hope you get your issue figured out, happy camping!Marcy & Gary

I would opt for a hard wired version over a bluetooth version, especially for something important like Brakes. I've heard good things about RedArc but have never used one. I have used the Prodigy line of brake controllers on my former trucks and they've always worked great. In fact, I may swap the factory Toyota brake controller for a P3 Prodigy at some point.

We use the Curt wireless system and it works great.... No complaints. Could be a phone/bluetooth age issue..... Just a wild guess
