    Slide Out Squeal

Our heavy (left side) slide has developed a continuous squeal from the rear rack and pinion drive area when extending or retracting. I have applied a spray "rail and gear lubricant" and cycled the slide in and out, with no improvement. The squeal seems to be coming from inside the frame rail, not visible because of the under belly cover. It sounds like the rack is dragging across a dry guide or roller. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Before someone suggests it . . . taking the rig back to our dealer is not an option . . . at least not in the next couple of months. We are 2000 miles from our dealer and this is not what I would call urgent enough to cause us to line up for service at a dealer we don't know.

    Hi Rob (@Cate&Rob),

We recommend graphite spray -- apply to the gear pack and on the wear tabs (plastic) on the sides and top of the fixed tube. Do not use any petroleum based lubricants.

    Best regards,
    ~ Janice
