That is the primary difference and the heavier you get, the more of your payload you use. Good rule of thumb is for a fiver expect payload weights to be 10% greater than an equivalent bumper pull trailer. Nominal to nominal (13% - 23%).

    Good Luck.
That is basically what I said in my previous post because several people were telling the OP that he would be overloaded. They were thinking he was towing a 5ver and he wasn't, it was a tow behind....thus the reason I pointed this out.

Just to close the loop on this, thanks to all for the information in this thread. I picked up the 3250BH this week and towed it 5 hours with no problems - definitely enough truck. I am using the Equalizer 16k which did a good job controlling sway, but I am going to take it by a Cat scale and see if I can get things really dialed in. The tow included some decent grades and the Super Duty had plenty of juice going up and plenty of control coming down. Glad I went with this one with the 3.55 rear instead of the 3.31 I was originally looking at, and that is thanks to this thread.

looking to move up from 2019 2800Bh to 2022 3250Bh, currently towing with a 2021 Ram 1500 Limited with 5.7 Hemi eTorque engine and a equalizer WD hitch. I tow the 2800 no problem at all but just want to make sure I'd be good with current truck. Thoughts?
