Pass through tubs...
Todays project, beef up the plastic “50 lbs” tubs on the 268BH. Took the passenger side out went over to a couple metal fab shops. Cheapest was $400...soooo not. Next just laid underneath and brainstormed for a bit and came up with this...
Tomorrow going to cut some 1/2 plywood to fit in the bottom and make the cut out for the cable access and it should hold up better. If the plastic gets broken, I can just order a new tub and drop it in. The one on the driver side will be harder due to the edges are under the Nautilus panel...will have to brainstorm some more on that side......2019 F350 CCLB 6.7

Nice job! I need to beef mine up too. I like how you did it. Keep us posted on how you do the driver side.

Great job! It looks really close to what I did on my Sabre.
Once I upsized the pics, I see a big difference in the way my Sabre was built. On it the lower siding skin wraps under and attaches to the bottom of the frame. So I did all of my work from above. Yours is open to the ground. That makes the job even easier. I will suggest that since the plywood could see road spray on wet roads that painting it would be a good idea.
Any paint you have handy would work fine. If you need to buy some, check out the mis mixed paint at Home Depot. They mark those down a lot.Last edited by huntindog; 07-03-2020 at 09:37 PM.

2019SD,
First the fridge fan mod and now this ?? You are too clever.
Tell us about that material you are using to make the supports. Where did you get it? Great job.

LOL...not too sure about that! I can’t use the trailer because of the level jacks so might as well do some of the mods I have read about here!
Today was the driver side. A bit different with the gas line in the way.....same vertical bracing, 1 x 36 punched square tube 14 gauge. The horizontal is 90 degree angle steel, 4 ft. Cut the tube 9 in long and you will have all 4. 5/16x2 bolts with fender washers for the top bolt against the frame brace and regular washer with locknut. Will work on the plywood tonite.
Was thinking I might cut the plywood for the sides also, make it basically a box. Less chance of something punching through the plastic.....oh, Home Depot for the materials...2019 F350 CCLB 6.7
