    2020 3740BH Rear Restroom Fan

    Hi Everyone. Happy 4th!

Quick question, anyone had any luck figuring out how to use their rear bathroom fan? May apply to other models too.

GD was nice enough to put a switch on the wall to control the fan ... but the vent opening is manual and 4-5 feet above your head? That works fine in the full bath up front where a 5gt person can reach it. I’m 6ft and I am three feet too short to reach the rear fan. Did the dealership forget to give me a handy dandy “This turns the knob.” tool or something or is this a design head scratcher?

    Thanks and stay safe

Just poor design. The 4" factory fans are pathetic but the opening reach on the rear baths are a joke. I added the Maxx Fan 7k model over the rear bath to have the electric open and built in rain shield. The airflow difference is amazing. Like to eventually do all the fans this way.

I agree completely. Based on the design, as built ... the back one is worthless. I think I will go the same route you did by adding the Maxx. Just makes you wonder “Who’s bright idea was that!!?”

Was just silly... replaced it and put the remote on the wall. Easy for the kids now.

Got rid of the fan switch on the wall (since controlled by remote) and filled it with a bathroom light dimmer for late night kids pee trips.

I should add... the new vent fan with rain cover interfered with the rear sewer roof vent (Interesting to put a sewer vent by a roof vent!). Luckily the rear sewer vent had enough slop to move it back 3/4 of and inch.

Seems pricey, but it is something to reach it with.

I had the same problem with my GD 3740BH rear bathroom fan. I asked my dealer how I was suppose to open the fan. He had no answer, so he contacted GD and they authorize to change it out with a MaxxFan Deluxe Remote Control RV Ventilator System at no charge. This might be the way to go.
